Our Story

Tona Coffee is a café rooted in Ethiopia and crafted for connection.

Born from friendship and a shared love for coffee, our space is inspired by the birthplace of coffee and the traditions that make it so much more than a drink.

A time to gather, share stories, and connect with others. Friends, neighbors, and even strangers come together over coffee, creating moments that turn into memories.

With years of experience in the coffee world, we bring that spirit to life in every cup.

At Tona Coffee, we invite you to slow down, connect, and experience coffee the way it was meant to be.

What Matters to Us

☕ Quality

We source our beans with care, pairing them with house-made syrups and thoughtful menu items to ensure excellence in every bite and sip. We believe in slow, intentional craftsmanship, never rushing the process so you can truly savor the moment.

🤝 Connection

Coffee has always been about more than what's in the cup. It's about the conversations, friendships, and moments shared around it. Inspired by the Ethiopian tradition of gathering over coffee, Tona is a place where people slow down, connect, and feel at home.

💚 Gratitude

Hospitality begins with gratitude. We are thankful for every guest who walks through our doors and every opportunity to serve our community. From your first visit to your hundredth, we want you to feel genuinely welcomed, valued, and cared for.

Why Tona? The Story Behind Our Name

Coffee has been at the heart of Ethiopian culture for centuries. More than a beverage, it is a tradition of hospitality, conversation, and community shared through the Ethiopian coffee ceremony.

During the ceremony, coffee is served in three rounds:

  • Abol is the first cup, welcoming everyone to gather.
  • Tona is the second cup, when people settle in, conversations become more meaningful, stories are shared, and connections grow.
  • Baraka, meaning 'blessing,' is the third and final cup, bringing the ceremony to a close with gratitude and goodwill.

We chose the name Tona because we believe the second cup is the most meaningful. It's the cup you stay for—not because you need another coffee, but because you're enjoying the people around you. It's where conversations deepen, ideas are exchanged, friendships grow, and time slows down.

That is the experience we hope every guest finds at Tona. We're not simply serving coffee—we're creating a place where people gather, connect, and leave feeling a little more refreshed than when they arrived.

So, slow down. Stay for Tona.
